草莓视频 Kate鈥檚 Board of Trustees welcomes two new members

Nancy Blattner, PhD, and D鈥橝ndre Carpenter, DNP, bring unique perspectives to the board.

Nancy Blattner, PhD, and D鈥橝ndre Carpenter, DNP, are the latest leaders to join 草莓视频鈥檚 Board of Trustees. Blattner and Carpenter, who bring extensive experience from  the fields of higher education and nursing respectively, joined the board in February of this year. 

鈥淚t鈥檚 a privilege to welcome Nancy and D鈥橝ndre to the University鈥檚 Board of Trustees,鈥 says President Marcheta P. Evans, PhD. 鈥淭he invaluable experience they bring to 草莓视频 Kate鈥檚 will reinforce our mission of leading and influencing.鈥 

 

Nancy Blattner, PhD 

Nancy Blattner is currently the president of Fontbonne University, a position she has held since July 2020. With over 40 years of experience in higher education, Blattner has served in many capacities, including as a tenured faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University and as interim associate provost for graduate studies and support programs and executive director of the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center at Longwood University. She鈥檚 also served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Fontbonne University, as well as president of Caldwell University. 

Blattner holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in English from Southeast Missouri State University, and a PhD in educational psychology from SIU-Carbondale.

 

D鈥橝ndre Carpenter, DNP

D鈥橝ndre (Dre) Carpenter has held roles in executive nursing leadership, clinical informatics, and data analytics positions at academic and integrated health systems in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Texas. Currently, Carpenter is the senior vice president and system chief nursing executive at Allina Health, where he is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that improve patient satisfaction, operational excellence, and clinical service delivery for the organization. He  leads nursing workforce development and programs with a focus on continuing education, recruitment, and retention of nurses and staff. Before his current position, he served as senior vice president and system chief nursing officer at UnityPoint Health in Iowa.

Carpenter holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Old Dominion University, as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and computer science.
